Paul Ryan is an interdisciplinary artist using research as an integral part of his work. He is currently undertaking a PhD in Peircean Semeiotics as applied to aesthetics, at Wimbledon College of Art, UAL and funded by the AHRC. This work is looking at note-taking within drawing as a way of conveying meaning without dogma. He is co-editor of the ‘In Focus’ and PARANOIA catalogues and websites with Predrag Pajdic, and is also collaborating on the upcoming project BOUND at Tate Liverpool, FACT, Open Eye Gallery and Contemporary Art Platform (CAP) London. Ryan exhibits and lectures extensively and has won many awards for his work.
